MAG Levels 1-5 State Championships

Congratulations to the Men’s Gymnastics Program Level 1-5 on their exciting win of the NSW State Championships for the 2nd year in a row! Congratulations goes to the coaches and athletes for all their hard work and commitment to the 2011 Grand Prix Events.

Congratulations also goes to the following teams for their overall placings:

  • Level 2 U8: 3rd Overall
  • Level 3 U9: 3rd Overall
  • Level 4 U10: 1st Overall

A further congratulations goes to the following boys for their individual achievements:

 MAG National Championships Results

Congratulations to the the six Castle Hill boys who competed in the MAG Australian Championships held in Canberra last week. The boys all competed well, with some great results:

Team Results:

  • NSW Level 6 U12 team: 2nd place (Travis and YiHeng)
  • NSW Level 8 Open team: =3rd place (Zac)

Individual Results

L6 U12

  • Travis Donaldson: 22nd AA
  • Yi Heng Wang: 34th AA

L7 U14

  • Darren Fung: 11th AA; 5th High Bar

L7 Open

  • Blair Steed: 34th AA

L8 Open

  • Zac Salameh: 16th AA

Senior

  • Luke Wiwatowski (competing for QLD): 2nd AA; 1st Floor; =1st Parallel Bars

NSW Levels 6-Senior State Championships Results

 The NSW MAG Level 6-Senior State Championships were held at Homebush over the weekend of May 28-29th 2011.

 Castle Hill was represented by 7 gymnasts along with coaches Emile and Vassli.

 All boys are congratulated for their efforts over the weekend with special congratulations going to the following boys for their individual achievements:

  • Travis Donaldson (L6 U12): 5th High Bar
  • Yiheng Wang (L6 U12): 5th Rings, 4th Vault
  • Darren Fung (L7 U14): 2nd Vault, 2nd Pommel, 3rd Floor, 3rd Rings, 3rd PBars, 3rd HBar, 3rd Overall
  • Blair Steed (L7 Open): 4th Rings, 5th Pbars
  • Blake Grainger (L9 U16): 3rd Floor, 2nd Vault
  • Zac Salameh (L8 Open): 1st Floor, 2nd Vault, 2nd Pbars, 2nd Hbar, 3rd Pommel, 3rd Rings, 2nd Overall

MAG L6-Senior State Trial 2 Results

The secomd State Trial for MAG Levels 6-Senior was held over the weekend of the 14th - 15th May at the Hunter Sports Centre in Newcastle. Castle Hill RSL had 8 boys compete, achieving some great results:

  • Travis Donaldson (Level 6, U12):  2nd Parallel Bars, 8th Overall
  • Yi Heng Wang (Level 6, U12):  14th Overall
  • Joshua Tam (Level 6, U12): 7th Rings
  • Darren Fung (Level 7, U14): 1st High Bar, 3rd Floor, 2nd Vault, 2nd Parallel Bars, 2nd Rings, 3rd Pommel, 2nd Overall
  • Daniel Nunnari (Level 7, Open): 5th Rings, 5th High Bar, 12th Overall
  • Blair Steed (Level 7, Open): 15th Overall
  • Zac Salameh (Level 8, Open): 3rd Floor, 3rd Pommel, 2nd Parallel Bars, 2nd Vault, 3rd Overall 
  • Blake Grainger (Level 9, U16) 1st Floor, 2nd Vault

MAG L6-Senior State Trial 1 Results (12/5/2011)

The first State Trial for MAG Levels 6-Senior was held over the weekend of the 30th April - 1st May at the Hunter Sports Centre in Newcastle. Castle Hill RSL had 6 boys compete, achieving some great results:

 Blake Grainger named 2010 GymNSW Men’s Gymnastics Junior Elite Athlete of the Year

 

At the 2010 National Championships Blake won the silver medal on Vault and was a part of the 3rd placed NSW team in the u12 competition. At the NSW State Championships Blake was named All around State Champion, winning the Rings, Vault, High Bar, Parallel Bars and placing second on the Floor and Pommel Horse.

MAG National Squad 2011

Castle Hill RSL gymnastics would like to congratulate the following MAG gymnasts on their selection into the 2011 Gymnastics Australia National Squads:

  Reace Massey – Under 14s National Squad

 

  Blake Grainger– Under 12s National Squad

Qualification and selection into the National Squad is a huge achievement, with gymnasts required to achieve scores in competition, meet physical testing benchmarks and be in the top few athletes for their age/level in Australia.
