Castle Hill RSL Junior Sports Club Awards (28/4/2011)
Castle Hill RSL gymnastics has once again been nominated for numerous awards at the Castle Hill RSL Junior Sports Club Awards night for 2010.
These awards are held annually and recognise the achievements of the RSL Junior Sports Clubs, their athletes, teams and volunteers. This year the awards ceremony will be held on the 7h of May at the Castle Hill RSL.

2010 GymNSW Annual Awards
The 2010 Gymnastics NSW awards ceremony was held on Sunday 20th of March at Burwood RSL. Castle Hill RSL was nominated for 21 awards, including the Overall Gymnastics Club of the Year.
For the third year in a row Castle Hill RSL gymnastics took out the GK GymNSW Overall Club of the Year, which recognises the outstanding results and commitment of Castle Hill’s athletes, coaches, officials, staff and volunteers.
A huge congratulations to all Castle Hill athletes, coaches, officials, staff, volunteers and parents for this exceptional achievement!

Castle Hill RSL Trampoline Program: 2010 Trampoline Club of the Year

This caps a fantastic year for the Castle Hill Trampoline program with 6 athletes representing Australia at the Indo-Pacific Championships in Japan (bringing home 6 medals!) and 23 athletes on the NSW State Team for the National Championships (Castle Hill athletes won a total of 17 medals, including 9 National titles!). Castle Hill RSL also had outstanding results at the NSW State Age/Elite Championships, NSW State Levels Championships and NSW RSLs Championships taking out the overall Club trophy in all three of these competitions.
A huge congratulations to all athletes, coaches and officials on their hard work throughout 2010!
Belinda Cox: 2010 Trampoline Sports Elite Coach of the Year and Merit Award for 10 Year Service to Trampoline Sports

This is the third year in a row that Belinda has received the Elite Coach of the Year award, which is a tribute to her dedication, knowledge and hard work in coaching throughout 2010. In 2010 Belinda coached 6 athletes onto the Australian Team for Indo-Pacific Championships in Japan as well as multiple National and State Champions. Belinda was also awarded a Merit Award for her contribution to Trampoline Sports through coaching, judging and education during the past 10 years.
Matthew Weal: 2010 Trampoline Sports Junior Elite Male Athlete of the Year and 2010 Trampoline Sports Age Male Athlete of the Year

Matt had a fantastic year in 2010, winning the U17 Double Mini Trampoline at the Indo-Pacific Championships in Japan in July, and then taking out 5 National titles at the Australian Championships in September. Matt also took out multiple State Championships at the NSW age/elite Championships and the NSW Level Championships.
Leanne Van Rensburg: 2010 Trampoline Sports Junior Elite Female Athlete of the Year

Leanne represented Australia for the first time (having previously represented NZ) at the Indo-Pacific Championships in Japan where she won the U17 Double Mini Trampoline competition and placed 4th (on count back) in the U17 Individual Trampoline. Leanne also brought home 4 medals from the National Championships in September. Leanne also took out multiple State Championships at the NSW age/elite Championships and the NSW Level Championships.
Megan Adams: 2010 Trampoline Sports Age Female Athlete of the Year

Ten year old Megan had an outstanding year in 2010 taking out both the U11 Individual Trampoline and Double Mini Trampoline competitions at the National Championships in September. Megan also won all three of her events at the NSW State Championships.
Bethany Bailey: 2010 Senior Elite Trampoline Sports Female Athlete of the Year
Beth currently trains at the South Australian Sports Institute with Trampoline national coach Nikolay Zhuravlev, but still competes for Castle Hill and NSW. In 2010 Beth was Senior Elite State Champion in both the individual and synchronised trampoline, but unfortunately had to withdraw from the National Championships due to injury. Beth went on to represent Australia at the World Championships in France in November.
Blake Grainger: 2010 Men’s Gymnastics Junior Elite Athlete of the Year

At the 2010 National Championships Blake won the silver medal on Vault and was a part of the 3rd placed NSW team in the u12 competition. At the NSW State Championships Blake was named All around State Champion, winning the Rings, Vault, High Bar, Parallel Bars and placing second on the Floor and Pommel Horse.
Sue Johnson: Merit Award for Service to Trampoline Sports

Sue received this award for her service to Trampoline Sports over the past few years. For several years Sue has been the assistant manager to the NSW State Trampoline Team and this award recognises her commitment and dedication to the sport.
